AX is known to be the
best place to try out new things and see exciting anime movie premieres and video screenings,
concerts, anime music videos, and much more. New to this year was the exclusive Matsuri
Summer Festival held outside the Marriott Hotel, the Pop-Shock Masquerade for the J-Pop and
J-Rock cosplayers, big hall displays for marketing the latest in anime-related products, a big
scavenger hunt, and lots of new merchandise for the diehard AX fans. The Matsuri Summer
Festival itself was a nice touch to foster Japanese awareness for the anime fans. The
festival included game booths, dance performances, traditional Japanese food and beverages,
and plenty of encouragement to dress up in kimonos and become part of the cultural experience. |
